Madalynn Posey
Student Success Coach – Social Studies & Spanish
Madalynn Posey is a senior at Louisiana State University, pursuing a degree in International Studies with a concentration in Global Diplomacy and a minor in Political Communication. As the Social Studies Student Success Coach, she brings a wealth of knowledge across diverse subjects, from World Geography to International Law and Policies. Madalynn is enthusiastic about supporting students and exploring into various topics. After graduation, she plans to attend law school to specialize in Human Rights and International Law, with aspirations of becoming a Diplomat for the State Department.
Joubert Harris
Student Success Coach – Biology & Algebra I/II
Joubert Harris is a senior majoring in Biology at Southern University and A&M College. A 2020 graduate of Lee Magnet High School, he served as SGA President during his time there. Joubert has a passion for music and enjoys both listening to and playing it. While at Southern University, he was a member of the renowned Human Jukebox for four years, playing the saxophone, and also participated in the Southern University Intramural Volleyball team for two years.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Joubert plans to pursue a master’s degree in Biomedical Science and then attend medical school. He is thrilled to serve as a tutor this year and is eager to help students excel academically.
Mia Smothers
Student Success Coach – Chemistry and Biology
Mia Smothers, a junior at Louisiana State University, is majoring in Neuroscience on the pre-dental track with aspirations of becoming a dentist. With a strong foundation in Chemistry and Biology, Mia has been a valued member of DreamKeepers for seven years. During this time, she has cultivated exceptional tutoring and mentoring skills, making complex concepts easy to understand for her students.
Mia is recognized for her patient and encouraging approach, empowering students to build confidence and reach their academic goals. Beyond tutoring, she is actively engaged in research and clinical experiences, deepening her knowledge of the sciences and preparing for a future in dentistry.
Myiah Smothers
Student Success Coach – Biology (Online)
Myiah Smothers is a Student Success Coach (online) with teaching experience that expands across her years of community service with local non-profit organizations supporting K-12 academic tutoring and as an Environmental Science and Biology teacher in New York, New York. Ms. Smothers is a graduate of Zachary High School, the flagship school of the Zachary Community School District, which has earned the ranking of #1 school district for academic performance in the State of Louisiana for more than ten consecutive years. Myiah has a Bachelors in Kinesiology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Masters in Biomedical Science from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, PA. Ms. Smothers has extensive knowledge in Biological Sciences and is creative in visual, auditory, and read/write instructional methods that align to students’ personal learning preferences.
