Our Vision
Dream Keepers Academy of Baton Rouge (DKA-BR) is a non-profit organization that offers after-school academic support and enrichment opportunities to K-12 students residing in the greater East Baton Rouge Parish community and beyond.
Our Mission
The mission of Dream Keepers Academy of Baton Rouge is to ignite within every student a sparkle of hope that captivates their creativity, confidence, and character, which together, gives them courage to reach for the stars and to dream big. The instructors of Dream Keepers Academy seeks to impress upon each student the ability to persevere through challenges, celebrate success, and know that within themselves they can reach their maximum potential and become the best scholar they can be. Dream Keepers Academy provides a safe-haven where students are empowered to engage in meaningful learning experiences and work collaboratively with their peers. We are Keepers of the Dream. Not only are we Keepers of the Dreams that came before us, but DKA-BR holds a responsibility to ensure that the Dreams of our scholars become their reality.
Core Beliefs
The Academy’s goal is to provide high quality curriculum and instruction in core subject areas that promotes rigor and higher order thinking skills as well as address academic gaps using personalized learning models. Our focus is to be intentional in the teaching and learning experience while building positive relationships with our students. We aim to tap into students’ interests to help support their preparation for College and Career opportunities. DKA-BR provides mentoring to students and engages in ongoing communication with parents and teachers to monitor students’ progress and track students’ mastery of core content.
