Dr. Lisa Smothers, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, graduated from Southern University and A & M College with a B.A in Mass Communications, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Mathematics, and a Doctorate in Science and Mathematics Education.  She was awarded Teacher of the Year with Zachary Community School System in 2010, and earned National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics in 2011.  After transitioning from the classroom in 2015, Dr. Smothers began her journey in Human Resources with East Baton Rouge Parish School System.  During this time, she earned the Society for Human Resources Management certification (SHRM-CP) and became a member of several professional organizations.  Dr. Smothers has served in the field of K-12 education for over twenty years as both an educator and district-level administrator, including University View Academy as Chief of Staff and currently Supervisor of Accountability, Assessments, and Evaluations and Data Coordinator of the City of Baker School System.  Dr. Smothers was also a member of the 2022 Louisiana Superintendent Academy, Cohort Six where she collaborated with state and district leaders across Louisiana and gained extensive knowledge in leadership and professional practice in the roles and responsibilities of a school system’s Superintendent.
