Donald L. Johnson, Jr.

Donald L. Johnson, Jr. graduated from Glen Oaks High School in 1990 as the Valedictorian. He continued his education at LSU where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and later received a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The American College of Education. He has taught and coached for the past 29 years at both private and public schools, including the following:  Jehovah-Jireh Christian Academy, Broadmoor Middle School, Tara High School, and Baton Rouge Magnet High School . As an educator and coach, Mr. Johnson received the Tara High School’s Teacher of the Year and District Basketball Coach of the Year awards.  He was also honored as the 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, one of East Baton Rouge Parish’s A-rated, Blue Ribbon schools in the district. Mr. Johnson is currently teaching mathematics and serving as the Athletic Director at Mentorship Academy. Mr. Johnson has a true passion for educating and coaching students, and he finds joy in seeing them have fun while learning.
